Advantages and disadvantages

Cherry red has few drawbacks. It is unpretentious and undemanding in care.

The main advantages are:

  • early ripeness;
  • taste great;
  • resistance to temperature extremes and major diseases;
  • suitability for canning whole-fruit with brushes;
  • decorative

Of the minuses worth noting:

  • tall;
  • requires compulsory garter and regular burying;
  • not suitable for long-term storage and transportation;
  • increased demands for sunlight and fertilizing.

The variety is very sensitive to the soil moisture content. With insufficient watering, the fruits dry out, turn brown, and when overwetted, they become watery.

Features of growing

The best areas for Cherry Red are: the middle zone of the Russian Federation, Ukraine, Belarus and Moldova. This is the earliest variety of cherry tomatoes. It contains a huge amount of vitamins, minerals and dry matter. With a lack of sunlight, tomatoes lose their beneficial properties.

Seeds are sown on seedlings in March or April. In open ground seedlings are placed in May. All stepchildren are removed after the formation of the fifth inflorescence. When 8-9 brushes are formed, the stem is pinched and only 2 leaves are left above the last brush.

2-3 square meters have 2-3 bushes. Watered at least 2 times a week, abundantly. Feed in the period of growth and ripening of fruits with mineral and organic fertilizers.

Diseases and pests

Fusarium and tobacco mosaic infect the leaves and reduce plant immunity. The infected plant cannot be cured, it dies. In order to prevent the emergence of these dangerous diseases, it is necessary to avoid over-wetting the soil, to provide the plant with good lighting and to carefully carry out the pinching.

Red cherry is a wonderful variety that does not require much effort when growing. To get a good harvest is enough standard conditions: garter, pasynkovanie, fertilizing and watering.
