Calorie content

It is no secret that any drying has a very high caloric content due to the fact that all the moisture was “extracted” from it - accordingly, we only use dry substances, which contain sugar, vitamins and other nutrients.

For this reason, dried peach has a caloric content of 254 kcal, which is comparable to the caloric content of white bread (loaf).

Nutritional value (per 100 g):

  • proteins - 3 g;
  • fats - 0.4 g;
  • carbohydrates - 57.7 g
As you can see, the products are almost completely devoid of fat, but more than half of the total mass of carbohydrates, which give the above-described calories.

Since the composition contains about 15% sugar (the same carbohydrates), it is impossible to call a diet product in any way, let alone base a diet on it. It contains several acids: malic, tartaric, citric, quinic and chlorogenic. Also contains a small amount of vitamins: A (0.6%) and C (up to 0.2%). In even smaller quantities contain vitamins PP, B1, B2, E.

Important! The composition of the "drying" includes essential oils, which give the product an appropriate odor.

Dried peaches contain quite important trace elements: calcium, sodium, magnesium, phosphorus and iron.

At first glance, the composition may seem poor, but you should pay attention to the coloring elements of the type of carotene, namely: lycopene, cryptoxanthin and seksantin. Although these substances are not vitamins, they also contribute to the functioning of our body.

Before proceeding to further characterization of dried peach, it is worth telling about the name of this product. The word is quite rare and, most likely, has Oriental roots. Dried peach is called "whispered". However, whispering is also called dried apricot with a stone, which was grown in Asia, so be vigilant when buying.

Than useful

Dried peach, despite the high caloric content and a large percentage of sugar, has a large number of useful properties. The first thing you should pay attention - iron, which is part of the product. It not only improves the composition of the blood, but also stabilizes the level of hemoglobin, thereby increasing the body's resistance to various diseases. It should be borne in mind that the drying we usually use in the cold season, when the protective functions of the body are reduced.

Also whisper tones the nervous system, which helps to withstand large mental stress. This is especially useful for students during a session or for people whose work is associated with very high mental loads.

The sear, among other things, has antibacterial properties, so it is useful to use it for people who have problems with the digestive tract due to the action of various bacteria.

Important! Lycopene slows down the development of atherosclerosis, and also protects DNA, which reduces the likelihood of malignant tumors. In addition, this substance reduces the chance of developing cataracts.

How to choose when buying

If you live in a big city, then you can only find these products in hypermarkets, in which it can, for years without having a great popularity. That is why you need to choose the right sear to make the product quality and useful.

If you have never seen dried peach, then imagine a dried slice of a whole apple. Approximately the same shape and color should have a sear.

Most often, "drying" is sold in sealed bags, so the smell is quite difficult. But it is the smell that can tell you how clean and fresh the product is. If the dried peach has no smell at all, then it is definitely soaked in any substances that prolong its shelf life and certainly will not benefit you.

Also pay attention to the color. Quite often, drying has scurf or any stains. A good quality product should be free of patches, and the spots should have a yellow or light brown color. Black or dark brown spots indicate that products are overdue.

Carefully look at the peaches. They should not be condensed. Wet or wet products are potentially dangerous, as they not only reduce the shelf life, but also contribute to the reproduction of disease-causing organisms.

Did you know? In ancient times, the peach was called the "Persian apple."

How to dry yourself

Above, we said that you can only find drying in large stores, however, if you have enough time and the necessary space, you can buy a few dozen kilograms of peaches and dry yourself.

To begin, learn how to dry peaches in the sun.

All products are sorted and washed. Next, the peaches are cut in two, removed bones. The halves are laid out on a large blanket or some fabric in a sunny place. Laid out peaches only in one row, skinned down. To prevent our products from being “covered” with a huge number of flies during the drying process, it should be covered with a grid with very small cells.

As soon as the fruit is strongly shriveled and changes color to dark golden, they should be checked for moisture and, if they are completely dry, collect and move it into the house.

If it is impossible to dry on the street, you can use the oven. You will need to take a small sheet of plywood, lay out the prepared halves on it and, heating the oven to 65˚С, carry out the drying of the products.

Important! Every 20 minutes you need to turn the halves of peaches so that they are well dried out.

Do not think that in 40-50 minutes the fruit is completely dried, so every hour turn off the oven and pull out the peaches so that they cool down. So you get the drying, which is devoid of moisture. Otherwise, the halves will be very dry on top and wet inside.

How to store at home

Now let's talk about how to store dried peaches.

The best storage containers are linen bags, especially if you manage to dry a large number of sear. You need to store in a dark, cool place with minimal humidity, otherwise drying will rot or become covered with mold.

If the question is how to store dried peaches after purchase, then it is better to select a special container of glass or plastic and keep drying in it.

Please note that under all storage conditions, the sear can last about 2 years.

Did you know? China is the homeland of the peach, where it is considered a symbol of good luck and longevity.

Cooking Application

Purchased products are quite expensive, so it is not advisable to make compotes from them or to use them for decorating salads. In the case of purchase of drying for medicinal purposes, it is worth eating the dried fruit, and not products that involve heat treatment.

It is worth recalling that dried peaches have such a rich chemical composition only for the reason that they are not exposed to high temperatures, which destroy vitamins and beneficial substances.

If you dried a large amount of dried fruits, then on their basis you can make pies, salads, use for cooking meat or fish in the oven.

Do not forget that the usual oatmeal after adding dried fruit turns into very tasty muesli with increased nutritional value and calorie content.

Contraindications and harm

Unfortunately, not everyone can savor the whisper, because the product has its own contraindications.

It is forbidden to use it for obesity or diabetes, as drying has a very large percentage of sugar. Also, do not get carried away and have kilograms of whispering, as it can cause an allergic rash or, if you have problems with the digestive tract, aggravate the situation.

Now you know how correctly this product is called, how useful and valuable it is. Try to use the minimum amount of purchased products, as it most likely contains various preservatives. Pay attention to the reaction of the organism so that the treatment of dried fruit does not cause the appearance of new problems.
