In Ukraine, the rural head stole a whole farm from the village’s citizens

The village head of Starosambursky district, in the Lviv region, forged the decision of the executive committee of the local council, on the basis of which 12 objects of the former agricultural enterprise were transferred to a limited liability company, resulting in losses in interest holders at 2.5 million hryvnia. This was reported by the press service of the police of Lviv region.

The ex-head of the village council was informed of the suspicion of committing a criminal offense under part 2 of article 364 (abuse of power or official position), part 1.2 of article 366 (official forgery) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

    The act of indictment on the rural head has already been submitted to the court. Now the former head of the village faces a term of three to six years, which prohibits the former official to hold any position or engage in similar activities. Also to this charge, the official must pay a fine in the amount of from 500 to a thousand non-taxable minimum units of income of citizens.

    Recall that one non-taxable minimum income of citizens in the Ukrainian legislation is 22, 41 UAH.
