In 2016, the volume of wheat imports to Azerbaijan amounted to 1.6 million tons, an increase of 18.2% compared with the same indicator in 2015, the State Statistics Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan as of February 20 reported. According to statistics, the total value of imported wheat in the country amounted to about $ 295.02 million (0.6% less). In addition, last year 138.4 thousand tons of vegetable oils were imported to Azerbaijan (by 20.1% more) in the amount of $ 124.64 million (77.3% more).
At the same time, in 2016, Azerbaijan exported 10.25 thousand tons of vegetable oils (by 56.3% less) in the amount of $ 10.7 million (a decrease by 80.8%).
