Russia has sufficient volumes of high-quality flour for bread production.

Russia has sufficient volumes of high-quality wheat to fully meet domestic needs in the bakery industry, said First Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, Dzhambulat Hatuov. Recall that in 2016 in Russia a record wheat harvest was collected in the last 6 years. At the same time, the share of 3rd and 4th varieties of wheat amounted to 71% of the total grain production, or 52 million tons. In addition, D. Khatuov noted that today the share of wheat of 3 grades in the total volume of Russian grain exports is only 20%.

Taking into account that since the beginning of the season, Russia has exported about 4 million tons of wheat of 3 varieties, today there are still enough grain reserves in the country to produce high-quality flour, the first deputy minister said. In addition, in 2016, millers used 10 million tons of wheat, including about 7 million tons of wheat of 3 varieties. Last year, Russia produced more than 16 million tons of wheat of 3 varieties. Thus, the country has all the necessary volumes of grain for domestic consumption and export, D. Hatuov said.
