Agricultural receipts allowed agricultural producers to attract more than 467 million hryvnia

An agrarian receipt is a document of title fixing the debtor’s unconditional obligation, which is secured by a pledge, to supply agricultural products or pay money under certain conditions defined therein. During the period of implementation of the agrarian receipts project, 80 such documents were issued, which made it possible for agricultural producers to attract more than 467 million hryvnias. Now the receipts are valid in 8 regions and the priority task of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy is to extend the project to the whole territory of Ukraine.

This was announced today at the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food on February 24 by Deputy Minister Elena Kovaleva during a meeting of the working group on improving the mechanisms for the functioning of agricultural receipts. The meeting was held with the participation of relevant specialists of the Ministry, representatives of the Agrarian Union of Ukraine, the Institute of Agrarian Markets Development, experts from the International Finance Corporation and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. According to the deputy minister, at the moment, preparatory work has already been done to organize a tender for the creation of a single national registry. Implementation is planned to be held before the end of September 2017 with the support of the International Finance Corporation.
