How to make gooseberry sauce at home: a selection of seasonings recipes for meat or fish

For more than a decade, cutlets and chops are eaten with ketchup, mayonnaise, mustard or adjika. But sometimes you want something new. If you want to diversify your menu, start with the sauce. Cooked not from tomatoes, but from gooseberries, it will make the most familiar meat dish unusual and very tasty. Consider three interesting recipes.

Gooseberry Preparation

Sauces are cooked quickly and easily. The most difficult and tedious process is the preparation of berries. The right amount of gooseberry must be harvested from the bushes or bought. Then each berry needs to be cleared of tails, twigs and leaves.

Ingredients

  • gooseberry (1 kg);
  • onion (400 g);
  • Bulgarian pepper (1 pc.);
  • garlic (1 clove);
  • vegetable oil (2 tablespoons);
  • water (40 ml);
  • sugar (150 g);
  • ground ginger (half a teaspoon) or any other spices to taste;
  • Vinegar 6% (2 tablespoons);
  • salt to taste;
  • Cognac (1 tbsp. spoon).

Step-by-step recipe

  1. Chop onions, peppers and garlic.
  2. All products and spices are sent to the slow cooker.
  3. Select the "jam" mode, set the timer for 30 minutes.
  4. If desired, interrupt the sauce with a blender.
  5. Add greens to the finished dish, pour it into the sauce-pot and serve it on the table.

Recipe 3

This is a variant of tkemali sauce. The classic Georgian tkemali is made from very sour plums of the same name. We will cook it from gooseberry, and it will be no less tasty.

  • Sieve or colander with small holes.
  • Stewpan for sauce.
  • Blender.
  • Spatula, spoon.

  1. Make mashed potatoes. Pour the berries into the pan, pour the water so that it covers the bottom. Bring to a boil and cook under the lid for 30-40 minutes. We grind the prepared mass through a sieve or colander.
  2. In a saucepan with mashed potatoes pour the leaves and flowers, pepper and garlic.
  3. Blender bring the mixture to a uniform consistency.
  4. Put on the fire and bring to a boil.
  5. Add sugar, stir, remove from heat.
  6. Pour ready tkemali into a jar for storage or in a saucepan for serving.
