Required materials and tools

From the tools you need these:

  • drill (can be replaced with a sharp knife);
  • jigsaw;
  • Bulgarian;
  • work gloves;
  • a piece of chalk;
  • roulette.
Required materials include:

  • tires in the desired quantity;
  • thick wire (1.5-2 m);
  • thin wire (20 cm);
  • paints for decoration (white, red, black), resistant to sunlight and precipitation.
Important! Tires, it is desirable to choose the "bald" and with nylon cord gain, rather than metal - this will greatly simplify the process of working with them, as well as protect from possible injury.

Manufacturing process

To begin, consider the peculiarities of applying the markup, because without it you can hardly cut a beautiful swan. First, it is necessary to draw two lines parallel to the inner opening of the tire, exactly half of the product - these will be wings. On the outer edges the distance from the beginning to the end of these lines will be equal to the length of the neck and head. The head will rest against the tail.

Main dimensions of the swan parts:

  • beak (length 9 cm, width 4 cm);
  • head (length 11-12 cm, width 8 cm);
  • neck (4 cm wide at the head, 10 cm at the base).

Garden sculptures will help decorate the territory of the summer cottage, an interesting decision can also be a decorative waterfall, which can be made by hand.

When all materials are prepared, you can begin the process of creating garden decorations:

  1. Wash tires thoroughly from dust and other contaminants. This will simplify and make it more pleasant to work with them further, besides, the paint will lay down on a clean product and hold onto it much better.
  2. When the tires are dry, apply the markup with chalk and tape measure. Wings can be done in the simplest way - by drawing half-poles, or to make them figured.
  3. It's time to wear goggles and tight protective mittens or gloves. At this stage it is necessary with a knife or a drill to make several holes in the swan’s head and beak so that a jigsaw can be inserted into the opening. If you make such holes throughout the pattern, it will be much easier to cut.
  4. The most responsible, time-consuming and traumatic step is cutting on the pattern. It is best to work with a jigsaw at medium speed, moving from the base of the neck to the bird’s head.
  5. When a swan is cut, it is necessary to cut the cuts with a knife or grinder: make them smoother and tidier.
  6. The product must be turned inside out for the swan to assume a more realistic position.
  7. Now you need to work with the head and neck of the product, because without the frame they will not be able to take the desired elegant shape. To do this, in the center of the neck, make double holes every 15-20 cm and insert brackets of thin wire into them. Then it remains to pass through them a thick wire, which serves as a frame, and give the sculpture the desired position.
  8. The final stage is painting the swan in white or another desired color.
Important! In the process of cutting the pattern you need to work with a jigsaw in parallel, in small sections of 5-10 cm, immediately cutting out both sides of the swan.
To make the decor look more organic in the garden composition, you can additionally make a simple stand for the swan from the same tires. To imitate the peepholes, the caps of large bolts are well suited, which can then be painted black.

Where to arrange crafts: tips and tricks

When choosing a location for the location of garden decorations, you should be guided not only by your taste, but also take into account some factors, such as the lighting of the place and precipitation. Despite the paint layer, which will protect the tires a little from external influence, it is not enough to protect the products from deformation and cracking, which inevitably occur with rubber left in the sun. Also adversely affect the ingress of water. Therefore, it is optimal to place rubber swans in the shaded part of the garden or under a canopy so that the dining sun and rain do not fall on them. Low temperatures also adversely affect the state of the products, so it is recommended to bring them into the garage for the winter.

Did you know? The largest and heaviest tires are made for dump trucks (BelAZ) - the tire weighs up to 5 tons and has a diameter of about 4 meters.
Swan decor looks harmoniously near the garden pond or waterfall, but if there is no such, then the products can be placed near the flower bed. Worn car tires can give a second life by creating an original garden decor. In general, this is an excellent budget solution for decorating the site, creating which you can spend your leisure time pleasantly.
