A bit of creation history
The history of the tractor begins in 1924, when the Red Putilovets plant (now the Kirovsky Zavod plant) began to produce American tractors under the name Fordson-Putilovets. In fact, this moment marked the beginning of the Soviet tractor construction industry.
In the second half of the 30s, we started production of the Universal-1 and Universal-2 tractors. The first "Kirovs" appeared only in 1962, when the factory started production of the first generation of agricultural tractors. Models K-700 and K-700A were presented. The second option had more horsepower. 
Moreover, the first batch of 50 tractors left the plant only in 1963. In 1975, the second generation of agricultural tractors appeared. Model K-701 was presented, which already had 300 "horses". In the late 70s, the plant produced the first generation of “Kirov workers” intended for industrial work (K-703).
The most popular and affordable means for today are cultivators and tillers. Through the use of attachments using the motoblock, you can dig and pile up potatoes, remove snow, dig the ground, and use as a mower.
In the mid-80s, the third generation of agricultural tractors called K-701M. They differ in power (335-350 hp.).
In exactly 10 years, the 4th generation of tractors appears. The K-734 and K-744 models, which differed in quite average power (250 and 350 hp), were designed for export. It is 1995 that can be considered the year of birth of 744 models. Further, after 5 years, the K-744R version was released, which belonged to the 5th generation of tractors.

This model is a general-purpose machine that is used for primary and preplant tillage. It effectively interacts with wide-range sowing complexes, it can work with various attachments.

Transmission and chassis

As standard, the machine has a three-point attachment type, which allows you to put the following guns:
- mechanical and pneumatic seed drills;
- all kinds of cultivators, including complexes that allow sowing;
- various plows;
- deep-rippers;
- towing devices of any type.
Important! Since 2014, tractor attachments are fully consistent with international standards. This allows you to install it on modern agricultural machinery.

Advantages and disadvantages
Pros:
- a sufficiently large margin of safety, which allows you to work up to 2 thousand hours without the mandatory inspection of equipment;
- equipment of the cabin, as well as the conveniences described above, allow the Kirovtsi to compete with imported cars;
- capacious tank and low fuel consumption;
- in the event of a breakdown, the purchase of the necessary part is quite simple and relatively cheap;
- Excellent functionality that many import copies cannot compete with.
Minuses:- without twinning the wheels, the weight of the tractor leads to damage to the upper fertile layer, which is why, as standard, the machine is not the best option for agricultural work;
- after installation of attachments, there is a loss of power, which is due to the presence of flaws in the hydraulic system;

Modifications
At the moment, there are three main modifications, namely:
- K-744P1. It features less fuel consumption, as well as an additional safety cage for the cab. There is also a sprung front axle.
- K-744R2. Installed a powerful engine 350 hp, which allows you to productively use heavy attachments. Other changes affected the cabin, which has become more convenient. Also, this model can "boast" light hydraulic volume control.
- K-744P3. The most powerful variation, which has a 400-horsepower engine. The manufacturer replaced the domestic air purifiers with imported ones that have a high dust holding capacity. Installed hydraulic pump, which allows you to adjust the liquid flow. It is possible to install additional ballast.
