Russian agricultural scientists made a breakthrough by creating new types of wheat

This is reported by Russian breeders from the Polsky Stolypin Omsk State Agrarian University, who crossed classic wheat with aegilops, which is a wild grass, and bluegrass.

The first kind of wheat, which was crossed with aegilops, was bred specifically for the crop to grow in Siberia and withstand extremely low temperatures. The powerful roots of egilops, which are indifferent to frost, can withstand temperatures below 30 ° C.

Wheat that has been crossed with bluegrass has turned purple, and according to the examination, it has much more nutrients and antioxidants than in ordinary wheat. Crossed wheat has acquired the name "Owl" and is now used as a fodder crop of excellent quality. Wheat is very nutritious and can also grow to a height of 2 meters.
